Also known as the Formosa, Taiwan is located in the Southeast Asia with mountains throughout the island.The tea grown in the Taiwan alpine experiences high humidity,low temperature and short average daylight exposure,and therefore contains relatively low amount of catechin and high amount of pectin substance,giving the Taiwan tea a smooth, delicate but rich taste.

Taiwan alpine tea generally means tea grown in the mountain range above 1,000 meters (3,280 feet),mainly in the Chia-Yi and Nan-Tou areas, including tea gardens located in Alishan, Sun-Link-Sea, Lishan, and Yushan.
